First time ever posting to the site, just had a general question for anyone who has built a stand for a 240 gallon tank

My tank is a 240 gallon and I built a frame from 2x4's by my calculations the tank when full will weight over 2000lb the tank is 72x24x31 i built two frames top and base conected by 4 2x4 post in the front 4 in the back spaced 18 inches apart also added extra support at the corners should this hold
Personally I am a bit paranoid and would go overkill, If possible get 2000 lbs up on that rig, see how it goes, The largest tank I have right now is 20g so I would be taking every precaution with one that size. Seems to me it would hold but better safe than sorry.
I just tried to look up what a 2x4 would hold but I got more questions than answers. I used to do construction and your design seems good but like knowdafish pointed out it would depend on if it is built properly. Good luck. p.s. if it turns out to be too much of a hassle you can just give me the tank, I seriously would not mind. Cheers!

not yet plan on taking some today, actually had a contractor buddy of mine take a look at it. he seems to think I did alright, guess i'll see

Just so you know I've been checking out the construction of a few of the stands at my local Big Al's. They have a 150g stand that's held up by (8) 1" pine boards. No way I'd be trusting that thing to hold up a 150 in my house. To be extra sure you might consider making the posts out of (2) 2x4's screwed together or better yet a 4x4.
