Oh yeah, that old chestnut, blame it on the mother in law, lol.
Not married yet! They've still got to keep me happy until I get off my arse and meet people!

My mistake, god knows where I got mother in law from, lol.

You can consider yourself lucky that you haven't got a mother in law yet!!!!

Ha ha! Luckily I've got a couple more years.

I gotta get a bigger pot for my banana. Since it turned out to be a dwarf banana, which has less of a cold tolerance, I have made the decision to keep it potted and only bring it out for summers. Of course, that doesn’t stop it from growing and I can tell it’s getting cramped in there.

From everything I've seen on bananas they have a very small root to plant ratio. I've seen some big ones in relatively small planters, and yet they still seem to thrive.

Obviously my green one is outside. My red one is inside in a pot. If my red one starts producing pups then I suppose the pot will quickly become overly cramped with the extra roots.

To prevent this I may have to cut any pups out as soon as they show. Or, due to it being in a pot, it may not produce any pups at all, I don't know.

By the way Fishman Dave Fishman Dave , that plant, whatever it was that you gave me, is thriving in the garden. I keep meaning to take a pic and show you.

I have two cordylines out the front and their leaves are long and narrow. The one you give me has quite broad leaves and they're way shorter than my cordys.

It looks like a yukka of some kind, I don't know. Winter will be interesting.

Yes, deffinately a yucca, not a huge growing one, maybe the torrey yucca.
Grows to around 8-10ft but quite a bush type too and very happy to spread underground. Seen it out in winter for quite a number of years and mine (split offs from a relatives) have been out through leeds winters for as long as I have had them (maybe the last three or four winters).

Just looked it up now, and yes I can see the resemblance with the yucca you mentioned. Looks like mine's got some growing to do yet, lol.

It went through a bit of a rough patch at first. Most, if not all, of the original leaves I had to cut off, they went brown! I thought it had died.

But as you can see it's fine now.

Spring is here in AUS, and some of my Australian native rock orchids have flowered!

Another awesome thing that happened recently, I got given a corpse flower bulb! A konjac, which is related to the Titan.

I was also able to give my finger lime a nice prune.

And finally, summer is fast approaching, with some of my frangipanis starting to grow leaves!669385F3-9DAA-4D2A-A76F-354EDCB01463.jpeg
