Aquariums and other people

depends who i am talking to. some people , mostly kids my age, laugh at me or harass me and dont think much of it.

couple people at my work were like oh thats cool. i showed em pictures and they were like WOW, that gorgous! which is what the family usually says. a couple of my friends like to look atthem, one friend who keeps fish is amazed by them. haha
 
theres not really anyone around here whos into fish, theres 2 petstores 30 min away and there only halfway decent, im just glad mfk got my back
 
a friend got me nto it although i dont bother with him now.
other people are not that fussed work people think its a bit strange but i dont really care.

Most people just think I'm wierd because of how many hobbies I'm into (cars, motorcycles, fish, racing, computers, and a few others).

...and the same goes for people who insult me (usually unknowingly although I don't know how you can think calling someone crazy and giving a weird look isn't an insult) for keeping snakes.:mad:
 
My wife thought I was nuts at first but then she saw how my daughter reacts to them. Now she just calls us fish nerds! I'm kind of new to the hobby too so I am still trying to learn as mush as I can and talk to alot of people about it. Some people in my family thought having fish was weird or boring then they come over and see my tanks...that usually does it.
 
Most of my close friends are into fish because I did it to them. One I got "back" into fish then he turned to the dark side and has all SW. Everyone I know likes my fish. My mom doesn't really care about them. If anyone says anything bad about my fish I just tell them to stick there hand in there (My sev is not aggressive but they seem intimidated by his size). Most of them are just amazed by seeing such a big fish and I'm like wtf my fish is small???

I don't have many friends and most of the people around me (including family) thinks i'm wierd. But I don't care. I love fish-keeping. As long as I love it, screw them.
