I used to have a 10g at work, but it went to hell when I started school. No one took care of it and I wasn't around as much to take care of it. Then I left for a 3 month internship and that's when all the fish died. Some of the guys are talking about getting another one. I offered to sell them my 20g

Erma Bombeck once said "Never go to a doctor whose office plants died"
I guess that holds true for vet offices.

Then again, it's the smae thing with vets as with petstores, a lot of the people hired in (aside from teh DR.) don't know a lot about animals. The vet pretty much never comes out of the back of the building either, so he couldn't tell them about it.

Planted would be too much effort for my mom (she lives 45 minutes away) and if I could drive over there, I'd do it. But as I can't, and that's a lot of money to spend on plants that'd die, I'm not going to....>.<

Oh, as for tanks and whatnots in places:

There's a hospital around here that has a really nice Malawi setup. I think it's about 180g, and then they have a 55g divided four times with fry in each section from various spawns. Under it they have information taped on the desk on when the fry were born, what species they are, and how they're raised (ie, "this cichlid is a mouthbrooder who takes the fish into their mouth as soon as they're born" etc etc). I'm pretty sure one of the doctors or something is a hobbyist, judging by the elaborate setups.

if goldfish count several hunderd feeders lol

theres a tank 75 cichlid tank and a planted pond/fountain at my office... and outside the development has a prettybig pond/stream with random fish in it.. however i never get to spend anytime looking at them since i work in the field..

Ebay's got aquarium desks that hold about 60 gallons. About $1200 each.

Had to see it for myself, and sure enough...
