and $1000. to ship from NJ to CT now I know why they quote it because no one in their right mind would pay that for just a tank!!
cichlaguapote;1553088; said:Shipping is not that bad between shops getting discounts with shipping companys and it going via truck freight anyways. You're talking a couple hundred at the most..
I hope that tank you're buying is from them but used.
I didnt understand what you said...., can you recap....???
jdepasqu2;1553290; said:Is this what you're doing???? When will you be getting, it if so??? Also what are the thicknesses of the acrylic.... I believe I recieved a quote form Midwest that was cheaper......
jdepasqu2;1553464; said:True, but not just fish is in Los Angeles which is rather far..., I talked to him on the phone and he seemed like reall good guy..., Hey talked through the different options..., anywhere form 1/2" to 3/4" to a combination of things....... I'm pretty sure that based upon my conversation with him, that the thickness would be on the thinner side for your $2600 quote.
I am picking up a 8'x4'x30"x1" thick this weekend...... I got a great deal. It is less than above.....,I am basically getting it for the price of a 8x4x24"x3/4" thick....... The only problem now is trying not to hurt my back moving this thing..... jk
good luck to you all....
Seriously though I have trust in whatever they sell in theory thinking they wouldn't knowingly sell it if it would lead to bad press. Plus I couldn't build it myself for cheap enough to warrant not getting them to do it.
