Anyone enjoy using lots of Aerators in there Tank(s)?? Such as Air Stones/Bubblers...I've always had these in my tanks, don't find many others that use them much as well.

My Tanks:

180gal-5 Air Stones and 1 Bubbler

29gal-1 Bubbler

My fish love these things, especially my Cichlids go crazy when they swim through them.

I recommend them for any freshwater tank. They increase aeration, flow, the fish enjoy them, and they can save your entire tank one day. I have seen it happen multiple times. Filters fail and if you rely only on them for all your flow and aeration and something happens things can go bad very quickly. Air stones alone can save all the livestock.

I personally hate them, I don't like the tubes running in the tank. I have multiple filters if they all fail then I have a power head. flow is minimum and would not help keep the bottom clean unless you had a bottom of nothing but air wands or sticks, power heads are much better for flow.

How sponge filters are great are fail safe and can be ran for ever on a battery, there is nothing wrong with keeping them.

I don't think your goldfish like your oscar.

Nice setup, but your couch is facing the wrong way??? what could be better to look at then your fish. only kidding of course your O doesn't bother your Gold fish? My O just hangs out in one section and vibrates its tail all day.

I have one decorative airstone, then I have another air pump, but the tube is in the outtake of my fx5, bubbles coming out both outtakes(that took alot of work). Tried adding an airstone, but it kinda plugged it up and slowed stuff down. Looks cool and every tank tenant likes swimming around in the bubbles:D. I think all the bubbles look cool:D

These are all my Aerators in the 180gal atm, 1's Buried in the gravel in the front by the Goldfish, 1 is at the back behind a lava rock leaning against the glass, 2 on left side by my Oscar in the plant, 1 infront by 3ft driftwood & my skull bubbler on left side of the main driftwood

and my Oscar's main Tankmate that gets fed at that end with him aswell, the clown knife.
