Aquariums with Lots of Aeration Added

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I read on an angelfish forum that increased oxygenation might increase fish growth. Of course, this is more speculation than it is proven fact...still worth looking into though :)

I have one decorative airstone, then I have another air pump, but the tube is in the outtake of my fx5, bubbles coming out both outtakes(that took alot of work). Tried adding an airstone, but it kinda plugged it up and slowed stuff down. Looks cool and every tank tenant likes swimming around in the bubbles:D. I think all the bubbles look cool:D

wow can u show pix of how u mean its in ur filter hose??

I personally hate them, I don't like the tubes running in the tank. I have multiple filters if they all fail then I have a power head. flow is minimum and would not help keep the bottom clean unless you had a bottom of nothing but air wands or sticks, power heads are much better for flow.

How sponge filters are great are fail safe and can be ran for ever on a battery, there is nothing wrong with keeping them.

1/2 agree. I absolutely love the look of the bubbles coming up, but absolutely hate the tubing running in the tank so much that I've stopped using both my aerators all together.

I run two mag drive pumps in my sump at once so unless both pumps failed at the exact same time I'm good to go. :D

You can always hide the tubing. I have 2 airstones in my 125gallon and I dont see a single tube.
