Aquascape Hassle with Hystrix

Hey guys.

I live a few miles away from their store front and am a frequent shopper by them. They are super nice and easy to deal with in person. However, they are a little disorganized when it comes to dealing with shipping. I think what happens is that people place orders online they say your order will ship tomorrow. But, someone walks into the store and buys the ray they were supposed to ship. . . seems like Nicole and Perdo try to run the store as best they can but don't communicate with the other staff that well. Its a real shame because they have really really nice stuff!
 
Its a mixed bag with them, some people have problems some don't. Personally I have ordered 3 rays from them, 2 separate orders, and never had a problem. The one good thing with them is that while sometimes there communication is bad from everything I have read the rays people get from them are always healthy.

Except for this time when they are clearly malnourished


I have thought about ordering a couple of their rays but after reading about the lack of communication I don't think I will , I am sure they are nice people and do the best they can but it takes trust for someone to spend hard earned money for a fish especially this time of year and when they can't give you straight answers about your order... I just don't think its worth the hastle ... to me anyway

Personally I would be Pxxxxd if they said they was going to give me 5 inch rays to make up for the lack of Customer service and received malnourished 3 inch rays... I would be calling and asking for some sort of store credit or something at least, take a pic with your cell phone that clearly shows the the hip bones and ribs protruding and send it to them ... I really hope they are strong enough to pull through for you bro, I'd get them on black worms asap !

I honestly hate to sound like a whiny punk.. Im not.. To be honest Im just glad the ordeal is over. I have my lil pups, and in time; as long as they eat, they will grow into mini Monsters.. I just have to powerfeed them... Nicole is very nice, I will never say anything different. She did call me the night my rays were delivered to see if the shipment made it to me. I told her "yes they arrived, but they were tiny, and extremely skinny, and 1 box was leaking, but as of now they are at least alive". I dunno what i was expecting her to say, and i cant even remember what she said to be honest. All in all, The rays were a steal at 75$ a piece I wish I had a review to write with nothing but great experiences and customer service, instead of sub-par. I will not be taking pictures to show Aquascape, Im sure they will not be thrilled when or IF they ever read my review. I am not trying to persuade people into not ordering from them either... im just simply trying to make people aware of the issues that sometimes go into shipping and receiving fish with any company. Like i said, Im just glad its over... and hopefully in a month I have great before and after photos..
 
Well put aquataholic I have 2 more hystrix coming in from them tmw morning. Hoping for a safe arrival.just have to wait and see. Btw, best of luck with your rays
 
Can't say about customer service but probably the end of recent import I saw all of these rays in person multiple times and the smallest where 3.5 or bigger and all looked well fed and yours being the only complaint out of 60 hystrix they imported not bad. Also I buy fish from all over but will always prefer to buy from Pedro. Only will deal with them all others arent in the loop with everything
