do what you like cause everyone has a different idea what looks better, that said nothing in nature is symmetrical and leave open spaces for growth and more aggressive corals especially those that use sweeper tentacles.

i am thinking of pulling about 20lbs out and trying something a little different. i might put some in the fuge.

That is pretty cool. Couple things I might change if I were you:

1. Get some of the rock off the back - This helps prevent dead spots, and allows fish to move around without being seen. (Which will make them feel more secure, and theoretically come out more)

2. Do build up some...right now it looks like a shelf.

3. Build caves of different sizes. It seems right now like you have a goby tenement. Some different sizes will make other fish happier.

4. You want the smallest footprint on the bottom of the tank as possible (within reason, you also want it to be as stable as possible.) The reason for this is again preventing dead spots, and eliminating areas where detritus can accumulate.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with this.

PS - drilling rock with a masonry bit is not that hard, and I used zipties (cover in coraline algae very quickly) to connect them. This created a very unique, stable rock work...and I suggest it to anyone scaping. GL!

flesh, there is plenty of room behind the rock for the fish to swim. it does look like a shelf, kinda of boring. i think i may start over tonight and see what i can come up with.

Sweet, sorry its just a little hard to tell from here I guess.

Looking forward to this whole build, I know that you are going to do this thing right. Should be pretty awesome.

the returns i have are kinda cool. they each have to 2-adjustable outputs with flow controls. i have the bottom return on each side facing behind the rock work .

i like it without the center rock, but with salt the more rock the better its going to be in the long run
