Hello, I am currently using Northfin 3mm sinking cichlid pellets and cichlid sticks for my two Oscars. I really wish Northfin made larger pellets, the 3mm is tiny for large Oscars and often get stuck in between rocks leading to poorer water quality.
In researching foods, I came across a company called Aquatic Foods Inc. They make blends of many different types of foods which I believe will help my fish get a much more varied diet, seems like a great idea! There are many different types of blends so I am unsure what to get. Sinking food would probably best since I have overflow weirs and a sump. It seems most of their blends have a mixture of sinking and floating. Worst case, floating will work if I feed a little at a time.
Any experiences with their different blends?

Thanks

None personally but I've found food from Kensfish to be very affordable, comes in a variety of configurations and sizes... especially if buying buy the lb

Why not swith to Northfin’Jumbo’ fish formula? Comes in a 4 and 6mm sinking size.

I too vouch for the variety of pellets and flakes, many flavors, sizes, sinking, not, different packaging and amount, From Kens foods in MA. Excellent quality, variety and prices. Even medicated foods. Filter parts? Few companies keep as many. Try them!

Imo there are very few foods on the same level as northfin New life spectrum is one and the are cheaper. But all you need to do is look at the ingredients you want to see whole fish. Not fish meal and you don't want to see grain that high up. I have a lot of different fish in one tank and what I do is buy 10 or more different food and put them all in a bucket and mix them up. I also soak all my food in water for about 5 minutes before feeding. My thought is that it helps with blote, you would not believe how much air comes out of them there is a layer of air bubbles when I come back. Because of this I can use floting or sinking because they all sink once once you soke them. Your fish stuff.com has some grain free stuff I use too.
