with ya'll looking into caimans I would hope that you have not only done insane amounts of research but also created a budget, cage plans (or even built the actual cage) gotten some sort of hands on experience outside of the books, and of course made sure they are legal in your area or have all the proper permitting required....
Surely all of this has been done first... caimans... even dwarfs, are not just something you decide to get some day....

Hold on there lil one!! Here's the temporary cageView attachment 728201.. Ive benn laid off work since October, since then i've ben reading about dwarf monitors & caiman lizard,to remind you i,ve had skinks, geckos, ball pyhton,tegus,etc...Budget haha when life throws a low ball!!They are legal where i live, i have two kids & a wife i would not put anything illegal in my house, before so!! i would get a permit or licensce to obtain one..I've been waitng to get my licensce to keep monitor & breed them for 3 months & had no luck, either contacting Mr.*********,so im going another way,The caiman lizard way..In febuary or march when i purchase my fiances dream house then its on with monitors,i might even sell my fish tanks or get out of this hobby for a while!!The ego's preference of some members from the board have gotten me sour,Im here to learn & share my experiences, not judge or criticize some one!!!

Caiman lizards, caimans, water dragons and basilisks to some extent for the bigger stuff. For the smaller lizards you have croc skinks( actually very aquatic if given the right enclosure) and Chinese crocodile lizards. The chinese croc lizards are way hard to find but look way cool and are very aquatic, maybe more than some dwarf caimans even
