start with an apeture of about 2.8 and a shutter of 1/60. Work off of that.

the smaller the number on the fstop the bigger the hole that lets the light in, also the quicker the shutter speed, the less light you'll get, but the longer the shutter..the more blur you'll get......


I agree with ming. Auto settings are crap for taking pix of fish

knock the film speed down to 100 or 200.
400 will usually look grainy unless its a really high dollar camera

the higher the ISO, the grainer the picture will be.

lower the ISO and aperture, and put some more light on your tank.

your camera seems to be focusing more on whatever your fish is sitting on than the fish itself.

trying taking pictures of the same fish at angles. I usually take about 30 or so pictures at different angles and select one or two of the best while deleting the rest.

Another tip I've heard of and have tried a few times is taping tissue/toilet paper over the flash to diffuse the light. I had to fold mine about 4 times before I got good results, but my camera is still ****ty. lol

if your camera is ****ty try using new toilet paper and not used.

i feel that loads of light is a must its stops the blurry pics when not using flash
