Aquatic Pitbulls

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If you stated that is happened almost immediately after you added the other JD, I highly DOUBT they were getting ready to breed.

My Jag and RT do this (but only for maybe a minute- then the RT retreats), and they are both males.. def not trying to breed there.

LOL you totally missed the joke that the people who said they where trying to breed where idoits.

You weren't "forced" to do anything. 20% of the water would be enough for the jd to stay in while refilling. It would lay on its side. like already said you can't post something like this and not expect to be flamed.

I guess I could have surely let him lay and flap on his side.

I like the Idea of moving the Texas to the 55 he is a bit smaller, I will give that a shot and see how that works. thanks Brian.

20% of a 55 gallon is about 4-5" of water, there is no way your 8" JD is 4" thick. Besides how long does it take to fill your tank? Just long enough to get the camera rolling correct?

If you don't have compatible fish, then don't keep them together. It's really that simple.

I'm also quite offended with your title. Thanks for keeping the bad rep rolling.

you could've put him in a bucket, waited until you thought there was enough water in the 55 gallon, then put him in..

Large cichlids will do this from time to time. Eventually one will tire and retreat. They are far from incapatible:duh: The piss poor owners that shouldn't be keeping pits or any other large dogs are the ones keeping the bad rep going, maybe focus your attention towards stopping them. Offended

The OP compared his fish as if they were 2 fighting pitbulls. And yes, large cichlids will do this, but that doesn't mean let's film it, and then claim you were forced to watch it happen.

You really don't understand why I am offended. I've been in pitbull rescue for 4 years now. I'm doing more than my fair share.
