it might have wandered into the a river mouth or estuarie
but they are by no means FRESH or BRACKISH water!!!
I guess by ACF you mean african clawed frog. Trust me, practically any turtle will eat frogs, and many fully aquatic turtles require massive amounts of water space. The general rule for turtles and tank space is 10 US gallons (40litres) for every inch of turtle. So, take that cute red ear (NOT FULLY AQUATIC) from the dime store. Not only are you going to need specialist equipment such as UV lamps, but youre also going to need a 120 gallon tank for A SINGLE ADULT. Turtle also tend to live a LONG time.

thanks for the info guys! It has been quite helpful. Yes, when I said ACF, I did mean african clawed frogs. Had no clue that turtles would eat them. All of a sudden, I dont think I want a turtle anymore. I would have been devistated if i stuck one in a tank and it killed my frogs!

Funny my red ear slider just ate my 8 inch albino clawed frog that took me ages to get to 8 inches... build an indoor pond for a turtle toss in generic koi and keep your precious fish and frogs away from the them. And while they are a wonder to watch in an aquarium they are extremely dirty... also to to keep mine from bothering my other fish now I keep a constant supply of feeders in the tank and at my next reptile show I am sending him on his merry way. THEY GROW TOO! It is kind of cool though to watch him chase the large comet godl fish I raise in a 50 gal.
Yeah my big snapper never trys to go up for anything but air and my hands. I take him out on the lawn when it's nice and toasty out though... figure thats good for him ya?!
