I'm going to have to say this person talking about Algae doesn't know what heck talking about. He really didn't give any good info on preventing algae. He said Algae sucks oxygen from the water and has no benefit in the tank. No it doesn't just suck oxygen under bright lights like plants they will produce oxygen just like plants through photosynthesis cause they are a plant a lower plant. Algae has some benefits in the tank it consume nutrients ammonia and nitrates. Now at night yes it will suck oxygen so will plants it works opposite at night they suck oxygen releasing co2 is why some people need to run a airstone at night in densely planted tanks if they keep lots of fish. He said the best algae eating fish are Flying Foxes WHAT?? Flying Foxes NO these fish don't eat algae. He also recommended Cory cats never heard of them eating algae either.. this guy is a knuckle head.
