More flow will reduce the amount of air that gets sucked into the drain. If you matched the flow exactly to the drain capacity, it would be silent because no air would enter, but that's an inherently unstable setup. You need to use one drain as a full siphon and a backup to drain the excess, which should be as little as possible to prevent noise.
