Aqueon or Marineland?

And you still didn't answer about the age of your tanks. Unless I misunderstood, you were talking about old tanks. Remember - I said current products. You keep skipping that. Also, I wonder if the Hagen weighs more because of a stainless steel frame. I don't know if it is structural or for looks? You didn't mention the thickness of the glass. Gimme specs.

The thickness that matters for silicone strength is where the panels meet, not what comes into the tank itself. If the area covered in silicone insidde the tank is large that indicates an inferior bond and seal where it matters.

LukeO....wasn't this supposed to be about peoples opinions of Aqueon and Marineland? What was the point in derailing the thread? OP, I appoligize for playing along with him.

I have had great luck with aqueon, the pro heaters are my favorite by far. I like marineland as well, however the latest emperors have left me frustrated.

Why have they left you frustrated? Im curious.

My experience with the current non flow adjustable models has been very noisy, I have bought 2 280's and 2 400's same noisy problem.

Interesting. I feel that the 400s don't have enough flow for my liking. But overall I am satisfied and the noise has been to the minimum.

Maybe I have just gotten a few lemons.
