Aqueon tanks

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
All Glass changed their name for some reason. The tanks are good quality. They aren't as high quality as Oceanic or Perfecto, but I have never had one fail. They have decent prices too. I have a couple of their tanks, I like them.

I find them better than perfecto having owned both .Their light fixture also blows perfecto light away

the one thing that I like about AGA compared to Perfecto is that AGA uses two center braces on thier 125/150's..the new marineland's don't - only one little brace over the whole 6 feet...when I saw this at my LFS I knew I was not getting a perfecto - the 2-three foot sectioned glass top is annoying.

to me, their tanks (visually at least) appear to be better built than the Perfecto's..nicer trim, better silicone work (not as thin) and more braces on some tanks.

and yes, their deluxe light fixtures with the aluminum reflector's blow the perfecto ones away with the plastic white insides...

I bought both of my 75 gallons new for $130 each including tax, $75 is a great price. One is Aqueon and one is Perfecto. As 12 Volt Man said when comparing the tanks visually, the Aqueon is of much better quality, in fact I will never buy a Perfecto again. Also, although not a fault of the tank, the glass canopy set that was bought separately and branded Marineland (formerly Perfecto) fell apart after a few years for no reason, it seems as if the plastic strips that hold the 2 pieces of glass together can't deal with constant moisture :screwy:. My All-Glass/Aqueon canopies are as tough as nails.

my LFS has switched to selling all marineland/perfecto tanks 'because they are the cheapest ones"

to me, thats bad news. thats why my 150g on order is not a perfecto. its an Aqueon.

I don't think aquariums are something to cheap out on.

sure, maybe when dealing with a 20 gallon tank, its not a big deal, but when dealing with a 120 gallon tank you want to get as good quality as you can- and somethimes thats worth spending a few more dollars...

Perfecto's are cheap junk, buy them for hamsters, no experience with Marinelands.

All Glass Aquariums, now called Aqueon are the best as far as quality, last I heard Oceanic and All Glass merged companies and together the company is Aqueon, but I am not 100% sure on that.

All Glass bought Oceanic. Oceanic tanks are no longer made. All Glass is not the best quality, they are the cheap brand, but I have never had a failure. Deep Sea tanks are comparable to Oceanic, and Marineland is making a 6x3 tank that is awesome.

the new marineland deep dimemsion tanks are nice, but to me, (and I am no engineer) the glass seems a bit thin.

for example, the Aqueon 150 is made from 1/2 inch thick glass.

the marineland 300 is also made from 1/2 glass.

this surprised me. I would have thought at least 5/8ths for a tank that size..

other tanks I have seen that size have always been made of thicker glass than 1/2 inch..
