ar Growth rate

ive had my Աarմ for a few months now and it seems to have grown very little. it dosnt seem to eat much either. i know these guys are notorious for slow growth rates, seena few other memebers have them so thought id ask if you had good growth or not? is this as common as i think?

oh right mine has only been here maybe 2months and hes about 2". so hes grown an inch. hes just never first to the food so he eats alot of algae,
do you have any pics of yours camph?

a couple of weeks ago, i know it looks like 5" but the uaru isnt right at the front of the glass either so it is more like 6". they dont like the tape measure. sorry for image looking weird i dont know why.

mine grew very fast until about 4" or so then they slowed way down.
 
you would be hard pushed to get wild uaru unless you buy from an importer, especially for $10 although a nice find if it is wild. either way though nice little guy.
 
thanks for the pics, im really looking forward to mine growing. i specificaly got him cause i love the look of the adults. and although they are shoaling fish my one just hangs out with my female rainbow or group of snakeskin gourami's so hes fine

Mine grew in spurts, got to about 10" and just stopped..Grew fast on earthworms and spinach leaves.
 
Mine have grown like weeds. They just over two inches when I bought them a couple of months ago , and are a tad over four inches now. I have learned they like warmer temps (around 86 F). I'm feeding mine Omega one pellets and a variety of frozen foods including Spirulina brine shrimp, Mysis shrimp,and Blood worms . I tried frozen Krill, but they didn't seem to care much for it.

I got them from a pretty reputable guy but he got them for free from one of his buddies in another state so who knows. Either way, $10 a piece for them was a good deal.
