what are guys feeding your babys? say under 10"? this is a diet only thread i dnt wanna hear how my tank isnt big enough bc i already have a special home for it when that times come in the mean time i wanna give it the best diet avail

I feed my old Arapaima: pellets, different meaty food and seafood such as shrimp,beefheart, etc @ 4"+. I also fed mealworms/superworm when it was around 8"-9".

+1. Also in the nature of Arapaima, shrimp is the most favorite of young Arapaima, so they can eat like there will be no tomorrow!

Maybe, it's still adjusting to the tank. How long have you had it? My old Arapaima swam alot too, but it would eat the food as it swam by.

Does he have a place to hide? The description of 'racing back and forth' sounds like you have an issue with something.
