I started a thread in the photo lounge with some pics of the Arapaima at the Henry Doorly Zoo.

Wasn't sure where to post them. I think Zoodiver said they ran over 10'. I would have guessed a little shorter, but it's tough to judge. He's the expert, though. They are MASSIVE!

Yeah, the largest there is pushing 12', but most were over 10'. The height at which you see them from is much further than you would think.

They are cool. Do you know offhand how many they have? I never got around to actually counting them. It's amazing how many people walk by looking at the macaws and sloth and don't even notice the fish.

We need to save these awesome fish. I hear their numbers are declining because of fishing.

I have no clue as to their collections size. I know it's one of the largest groups in the US right now. I think Dallas World still has the largest group of them. I'll have to check with ISIS and see how many they have listed.

I might be doing another 'bigger' sized project in the next month or so. That's all I can say for now.
