i would figure 4+ feet in two years.........then figure bigger.


i would think a circular pond as the best use of space maybe 14 ft diam min. house of sam is 12x26.

The pond is route I will take, the garage is 20x20 so 14 fits nicely. See you in August, I can't wait as I've never seen a pima over 18" in person, sounds like mine will be bigger than that by then.

a little slow at first then somewhere around 12-14 inches they really starting growing and between 18 -48 inches sam grew 2 to 3 inches per month.........

I feed mine makeral, herring, trout, pink salmon, smelt, Canadian whitefish and let them hunt down cichlids for snacks.

The pictures were taken in 2007. Go to my youtube videos for more recent pictures of my fish. Both of my Arapaimas are now 72" approx.

Great fish but to own them you will need a large tank.

I got the 2 I have now at about 6" in October 2005 ( I have owned others in the past) and they are about 72" now.
