For those of you who are Arapaima and fishing show fans there is a good show for you that is very entertaining. Watch Larry Dahlbergs Hunt For Big Fish. He travels the globe looking to catch Exotic monster fish and one of his episodes is about catching Arapaima in Peru. He uses Marlin tackle on a farm pond to catch good sized Arapaima. If you cannot find this episode he has a web site where you can buy a copy.

A side note, the first place where he went fishing for Arapaima was at an Arapaima farm in Peru. Some of you monster Arapaima fans would love to here that the owner of the Arapaima farms claims to have caught an 850 pound Arapaima which seems maybe well over the 3 meter mark.

For those of you that are looking for evidence or Arapaima over 3 meters you may want to send Larry Dahlberg an Email and see if he can put you in touch with the owner of the Arapaima farm in Peru. Check to see if he documented or has any evidence of the fish he caught that is allegedly 850 pound.

Larry Dahlbergs Hunt For Big Fish as well has episodes of him fishing for Giant Peacock Bass, African Tiger Fish, Gigantic South American Catfish, Payara, Gar, Muskies, and others. If you don not mind watching fishing shows its a good one all about monster fish.

I think Jeremy Wade from River Monsters stole the idea of the show from Larry Dahlberg.

Yeah he does put together an awesome show.

Has anyone ever kept a Piraiba in captivity I have never seen any at any wholesale locations or retail fish shops.

Larry Dahlberg, as well, is a member of the Fishing Hall of Fame.
