The largest actual records for wild caught ones were a bit over 2.5 meters and 200 kilos. A bit over 3m and 300 kilos for pond-raised stock...

It's funny that the length records are often cited at 4.5 meters, but I've never seen a comparable weight record. Have a look at this illustration comparing a 2.5 and 4.5 meter Gigas...just for reference, a 16' Great White weighs around 1000 kilos.

Hopefully Zoodiver will chime in with some first hand data of actual size/weight ratios...

From what I've seen, some of the size comparisons aren't quite 100% accurate when trying to compare length to weight. The longer ones I've delt with don't have the thick body at the 5-7 footers do. With age, they tend to thin out and gain length, becoming a very long gar-like fish.

Ahh cool, I would have assumed the bulk increase continued with size/age. Do you have a weight for the largest you've dealt with?
