Hell all, I was just wondering how fast does a 6"-8" arapaima grow? I know there is probably threads out there with this info and all but i just couldn't find any. I have heard they grow about 1" or so a month, but on the other hand I also hear they can grow 1"-3" with in weeks....for all you arapaima keepers out there can you help me out or can you just post the link and I'll do some more research...
Thanks all

i dont have an arapaima but maybe the 1-3", even more because a 1-3" a month could also be a silver's growth rate.. i might have misread the post though.. i'll post the link when i find the thread..

I got mine in april at 7 inches. After 3 months it's already measuring a good 28 inches.

So they average around 6"-7" a month? That is fast....Okay. Thanks!

My two year old was close to 6 feet. They grow QUICKLY. That is one of the hardest parts about keeping them as young. They need a lot of room to swim, so they develop correctly. If they are hinderd during the first years of life, body systems won't grow correctly, leading to other hidden health issues in the later years.

Alright! I've been doing A LOT of research but just couldn't find any one their growth rates...people just tend to say they grow "fast" and don't really give me a rate. Thanks for the info guys!
