2-3 inches is pretty small I might have to get one for an empty 20 gallon I have.

But if he DOES have a multi thousand gallon pond to put it in when it hits the 5 or so inch mark I do not see a single reason why a 2 or 3 inch fish could not live in a 20 gallon for a short period of time... IMO a 2 or 3 inch PIMA COULD live in a 20 gallon but only for a VERY short period of time LOL

Oh LOL sorry... But it still bugs me SO much that (in general) people ALWAYS assume that just because a fish has potential to get huge can not grow out in a smaller tank... IMO just about any 2 or 3 inch fish can live in a 20g... Well almost any...
