I have one and kept it in a 150 for about eight months. I did have good filtration and fed quite a bit but if care is taken not to over feed I don't see why it could not make it a year in a tank that size. My guy now lives in an 8' round pond at about 700 gal till I get around to making a bigger tank. He did grow from 6" to 22" in eight months! Something to think about.
 
the biggest they come is about 8inchs,usually 4-5inchs. at tht size youcan keep him in a 125 for at least a year,prob more. it would grow bigger faster in a bigger tank. kept 3 in a 300 gallon for over 1 yr. i got rid of them becus they are like oscars. eats alot ,makes a mess and needs alot of water changes. they are awesome fish,but i just rather keep arrowanas now. http://www.youtube.com/user/cHrOmeHeArTs1888#p/a/u/1/c-m0HlvFZ_I
 
try brian @ OCEAN BLUE.. he brings in big and healthy ones,when they are available.
 
I have order one from riverwonders.com for many weeks. Paid and wait for a long time. This morning they still say that, those fish will come on next Jan 4. However, I'm too tired w/ them. I just canceled the order.

Make sure to call for the availibility before paying.

Their price is $70 for a 4-6" one. So good price but it is FEAKING ................

I got mine from river wonders because I paid for 2 gatf and never got it from them so after 3 months I just took a bunch of fish from them including the aripima. Watch out for the they are shady!!!!!!!
