FYI the pima at my LFS have grown 2" since I started this thread.
He just smiles at me when I look at them. Unfortunately, none of them will survive after 1 year, as no one I know has the resources to keep a 10' fish.

if you have a swimming pool you dont swim in anymore then buy a giga

if you dont have a swimming pool the build one before you buy a giga its as simple as that

apparently "go big or go home" REALLY applies here.
these little SOBs at my LFS growing by the day.

what would heat it, like solar heater or pool heater?

it might b outside

I'm guessing you haven't really thought this through.
Building the tank will be the cheap part. Can you imagine the cost of heating 8000g of water (especially if outside), running the pumps to filter it, the cost of the water every time you do a water change (10% change means throwing away 800g of water a week!!), and the food bill for this hungry, rapidly growing monster fish.

What are the dimentions of the 8000g tank, or was it just a random number that sounded big enough for a pima?

I look at that tank and just imagine that pima getting spooked and blowin the lids off that tank. And uhmm, is there two in there, or is that just the reflection off the back of the tank?
