Is that a chip I see on your shoulder? I think so. I laugh at people who join a forum site and attack anyone who thinks differently then they do... I believe the term is moronic?!

LMAO.......someone's having a bad day already....

oh goodness no, im the one thinking differently here. everyone else is saying brackish water, im say brackish or fresh. pretty sure i was the one that everyone was "attacking"?
but its ok u can continue to increase ur post count on my thread, no hard feelings ;)

not at all, why would i be?

I kept one for years in FW with no ill effects, this hobby is partially about experimentation, that's how breakthroughs happen breeding rare fish,etc...that being said, for the common hobby archers, brackish would be ideal, and that is for the most part the consensus opinion in the hobby. Personally, I am inclined to say you might as well try keeping in them in brackish, although a sample size for success would be in terms of years, not days.

one day at a time lol, but thx for telling me u have kept them in FW with success.

Well I have to admit your archer fish seem to be doing fine so I would have to agree now that they can live in fresh.

ah im not here to prove anyone right or wrong.

Well both sides are correct, can Archer fish live in freshwater?...the answer is yes. Will they thrive in fresh water most likely no. I don't know their full lifespan. For example...we will say 10 years. So, someone buys one and keeps it in freshwater... it lives for 6 years. The fish owner brags I did it so it's ok. What about the other 4 years?

My final words are in if you really care about the fish keep him in his natural water conditions as much as possible.
