Archer Fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
From what I hear some of them get to be a good size and are brackish water fish, I really wanted to set-up a tank to encourage the natural spiiting of the archer! If you get any , of course post some pics!

cool archer. plecos are not brackish fish at all...
yea, why do people always put plecos in brackish water... no offence to anyone here, but this is definately wrong! i blame pet shop people... they baltently tell people that this is ok... that plecos can 'adapt to brackish' this is not true, recent thought has given to thinking that this causes the plecos slow and increasing pain, though they cannot show the pain... oh well... hope people read this... and i hope you take heed from my warning. lol
Mistreated fish will have their revenge!!!

im not flaming anyone, but my opinion is against "converted" fish. "fw" bumblebee groupers all seem to get nowhere near there full life, neither do morays. just the same the other way around. I wouldn't put pleco's in brackish water though just because they come from soft blackwaters, the opposite of brackish. ive seen plecos kept in brackish water and they swell up really big and develop huge boils as they can not pass excess water because their osmosis regulatory organs can not function. you can try it but im not sure on your outcome. some people keep them and have reported they are doing fine so far, but i havnt heard of an adult pleco in there for 10-20 yrs. o and some are more sensitive than others, commons are a very hardy species...
