what do these guys do....what do they eat....there is one at my local fish store, why is it so expensive? Pics of adults would be great. Also any information you can provide would be awesome thanks:thumbsup:

They are not freshwater, scientific name is Toxotes jaculatrix (I suggest you Google that for more information). As far as I know they are brakish and they spit water at bugs at the surface and eat them.

thats so strange because they have them with all fresh water fish...and they are in a freshwater tank....how long would i be able to keep it in freshwater? can Flower Horns tolerate brackish water....if i were to keep it with a flower horn will they get along, will the archer fish harm the fh?

There is a freshwater species, I believe it is microclepis. Has anyone kept them? They are avaliable to buy in the UK.

They are brackish but seem to do well in hard, alkaline water. I know people who kept them in FW for years. But my local tap water is rock hard!

Well i got the little bugger today...i'm keeping him with my fh...the flower horn was casing him alittle in the beginning but seems to have stopped, he did the same when i got my peacock bass....they are both about 3 inchs so they should be good for awhile...They look so nice together both so beautiful.

Get him in a brackish tank... they need totally different water parameters than your other fish.
