Archerfish with Arowana?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I did this before....no problems....then I realised that archers need to be in brackish waters to be healthy.;)

thanks for your opinions.. i am not planning to throw in an archerfish to grow out with an arowana because i understand they have slow growth. the arowana will be introduced last at 3 inches whil the archer fish will be already 6 -8 inches and used to the tank. and as of brakish water, the are species that are pure freshwater, and thats the ones i will be aiming for

what i wanna know is aggression, since both are top level dwellers. some arowanas are more mellow than others. i just wanna know if would work out. i also wanna know if the arowana is eventually able to eat the archer fish at full grown aquarium size.

im grateful for ur opinions

I have zero experience with archers, but a 3" arowana shouldn't be with any tank mates at this size, for they are very fragile

i wouldnt the archer fish will become lunch..

i did it, it was fine for over a year, then my new gar ate my archer :( fresh is pushed hard by many, but mine and many others have done fine in fresh for yearsssssss....

there are 3 big ones like 6-7 inches at a lfs near me that i've seen there for over a year and a half now, still in full fresh, still looking great/healthy.
