archocentrus centrarchus vs Panamius panamensis in a 40 breeder

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I’ve had centrarchus a few times in the past so while you can certainly grow them out in a 40B I’ve had a few fish over 7 inches. So long term I’d recommend an upgrade to a 4ft tank. They’re quite peaceful and easy on tankmates.

I still have two tanks with panamenis and they’d do quite well in a 40B for life, one of my favorite fish. They’re a little feisty when compared some other Cryptoheros(now in Panamius)in regards to tank mates and con-specifics.

Dave’s has them for sale at least a few times per year as they’re breeding them in house, so keep an eye there. I got mine from him.

Wet Spot had them earlier this year. I’d sign up for email alerts.

Panamius spawned in my tanks a number of times,
