are albino tiger barbs "man made"? i have a feeling they are but i just want other opinions.

Albinism sometimes appears in wild organisms, but is usually selected against because it makes the individual stick out so much. Albino fish in captivity are selectively bred

When you see a bright orange or pink or any other color tiger barb, then you know it is not natural, but like Andyjs said, Albino is a naturally occurring skin pigmentation, or in this case, lack there of. :)

So I guess you could say a little of each...They naturally occur but they stand out so much they get eaten quick in the wild.

Selective breeding, they're not dyed or anything like that.

Like ravio11i said, albino animals occur in the wild, but since they aren't camouflaged, they usually don't live very long.

natural selection versus selective breeding. i would call both pretty natural. it's nothing like tattooing or dyeing.
