Are bait shop worms safe?

I want to feed my tiger shovel nose and butters cat some night crawlers but all we got around here is pet co and pet smart. Are the bait show red wigglers and night crawlers safe to feed?

I would trust worms sold as bait. I don't have much personal experience using them, though. Just once or twice before I had my own worm bins up and running.

they should be ok i have a friend that fed all of his fish nightcrawlers from the bait shop for like 3 months

i have fed my piranhas night crawlers from the bait shop and they lived. i say there fine.

I have done it many times, I don't know where else to get them personally except my yard after it rains. So when me and my old man go fishing I always buy extra for some fish treats. They gobble them up the same as when I collect them from the yard post rain showers.

I think there safe but they are used for fishing so I would be very catious with the worms. Good Luck!

I would think they would be fine, just make sure to rinse them off before dropping them in...

I'm sure all worms are from the same farms. That said, I lost an arrowana feeding bait shop night crawlers.

I used worms from Wall mart’s bait fridge for a lot of years. Before I learned the importance of an varied diet that was all I fed. Never had a problem. I still feed them but only as a treat.
