I've had a trio of bala sharks for a few months now, and they've only grown about roughly an inch each. I was wondering if they should be growing faster, or if i've been spoiled by watching a redtail catfish and oscars grow.

no, bala shark stil grows fast. i was buy 5cm and now 1 years 18cm. i give bloodworms, krill, algae walles, 30% water change weekly

this is what was also wondering because if lyou are used to the growth rate of catfish like me, then i think they do grow slow.

nope, they are relatively fast growers.
if ur bala shark is at the surface begging for food the moment u reach the tank, he will grow fast
i had 2 at 9cm that doubled in size after 3 months.

fairly fast growers, I feed mine pellits

Mine grew slow to, and I assumed mine where stunted because of how slow they grew, compared to what others said on this forum. So who knows, I just bought two more that are 6" or 7" so we will see how fast they grow, if they out grow my others.

Mine did grow from the small 1" to the 5" mark fairly quickly but have slowed way down.

I better see some pics of these fish, I love bala's they are the reason I got in the hobby, but no one else likes them so I rarely get to see pics of other peoples bala's.

No one wants to share pics of they fish with me :-(
