Are Burms legal in New York?

I have gone tons of time to the NY Reptile expo and they do not ask you for ID to check your address or ask you to fill out a form. Its all Cash and carry. In NYC the Boid family is banned, but as others have said: The cops cannot do anything without the Fish and Wildlife guys. I hate those guys... I work at a retailer that sells fish and i asked them : What if i find a Snapping turtle or a Small Red eared slider(Under 4 inches.), the response they gave me was to give it to them and they would "put it to sleep". These A*&Holes!!!!

where in ny are you? the only petcos i go to are in westchester, scarsdale, and 2 in downtown NYC. now that i think about it, i may have seen an emperor once in the petco in westchester..a loooong time ago.
