Are cichlids better off alone?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I agree with Aquanero too. The fish will be fine by itself, but if it is always hiding now, I dont think you will see much of it.??

I would like to thank all of you for your comments and advice. Aquanero, I have no problems with having a wet pet i am just concerned with its well being.

I find 'breidohri' to be a shy fish as many Paraneetroplus are when alone or in small numbers. I have 8 adults ranging from 5" to 7" in 180G with 'several 'argentea', 'regani', 'robertsoni' and 'bulleri'. They are always out, showing full color, and breed every few days. They need company to show their best. But in a 55G, it won't happen. So your keeping a "pet" male may be the best you can hope for.
