They sell clowns at WALLMART? That is so irresponsible. How many people are going to by that cool looking fish and put it in a 10 gal. Poor fish.

That they do. It came it as their "Fish of the Month" marketing scheme. I don't mind that they sell them there...what pisses me off is that the information they give the customer is that the clown knives reach a MAX SIZE of "only" 10"...

I've had only 1 CK for over a year. I got it at around 4" and it's now 14-16". IMHO it's very hardy. My tank is completely bare and it's in with some big fish. It every now and then loses some skin or gets torn fins, but always eats like a pig ang recovers fine.

I got a RCK in the past few months that is also doing fine. It was only around 8" when I put it into the monster tank, but it's never had any problems.

They both show awesome coloration and are very energetic ... definately one of my favorite fish! :D

well, i picked up a ckf at work, some guy brought it in, said that it was in with his africans, its only about 8 inches MAX, and it was beat up pretty bad. the pec. fins looked like twigs, and its anal fin/tail was tattered. right now its in my 20, recovering, with a pair of kribensis. and it is readily accepting flake foods, and blood worms, it hides most of the day, at least until it is fed, gets along with the other fish, FOR NOW AT LEAST, and is almost 100 percent heales, with out scarring. its been about 3 weeks now, maybee more. just waiting to get a big tank set up and hes moving out.

I would HATE to see my new little CK go belly up on me. I got him and an ABK at Petsmart (I've had good luck with them so far <fingers crossed>). This particular Petsmart's tanks and fish look at least as good as the 2 LFS, is closer and the prices better. My knifes are eating well and not being picked on in the least, so I do hope that the somewhat sensitive nature of the younger ones won't come into play with mine. I'm definitely attached to these little guys, especially my CK and only after a week and a half.
AWESOME fish!
