Simple question, what's the expected growth rate of a female dovii. I got a little 2" female around the first week of may, and I have yet to see much growth. Maybe a little girth, but that's it.

I've had 3 female dovii that I have grown out from 2"...

One grew like a weed till 6" and has only put on an inch since, she's 1.5 years old. The second grew like a weed till 5" and slowed down, only putting on .5" in a couple months. The third grew very very slow, only grew 1.5" in about 5-6 months, she ended up getting killed by the largest Dovii.

There are a lot of factors, tank size, water quality, is there any other dominant fish in the tank, etc..

males grow faster than females, in general they are fairly quick growers up untilabout 10" for males and 6-7" for females.

My wild-caught male went from 1.5 - 9.0 inches in a year. I was pushing him hard too! He has stopped growing fast now. Some folks have said 12" in a year but mine couldn't touch that.

My wild pair i bought from rapps a year ago was 10" when i got them now my female is about1 13" and my male is about 14.5" when i got them the female was about 1.5" bigger then him but now hes out growing her and her growth has slow down

hi my male grew from 1.5inch to 11inchs in around 12 to 14 mnths.its all about good water and feedings.but compared to say oscares i think they grow slow but large so be patient.good luck.
