I'm setting up an all male 75 gallon peacock/hap tank. Its mostly male peacocks, and i already have started collecting juvies. Right now i've got an Aulonocara Sp. "OB", lwanda, hansbaenschi, baenschi benga, & rubescens. Thats all i have for male peacocks right now but there are a couple other species i want to get as well. As far as haps go, i currently have 1 copadichromis borleyi, and 1 sciaenochromis. In the end, i want to have 10 fish total in the tank. All of the fish I currently have, including the fryeri, are young males and are all about 3 inches. My question here is will the S. Fryeri become too aggressive as the fish grow? I've heard of some nasty stories of people having them with peacocks and the Fryeri ended up killing the male peacocks and breeding with the female peacocks...BUT, since my tank has no female peacocks, or females of any species, will the Fryeri most likely behave himself? I'm assuming that with the species i have, the Fryeri would eventually become the "tank boss", correct me if im wrong. Are they generally very hostile when they are the top dog in the tank? I just want to know if i should rehome him now before i get too attached to him lol
thanks!

If you were in Central Florida I would be able to tell you which stores to hit to fill out your collection....

Every fish is different but the odd's are if male he will probably be one of the tank bosses. They can get quite large compared to most peacocks.

Try it and you'll know if it's going to work out.
a recommendation, your going to need more fish than 10 to keep the tank aggression down when keeping this type of mix.

I know a couple people in Indy that had success with them in with Peacocks. But it really all depends on the particular fish and how agressive it is. Some are much more aggressive than others.

I have a fryeri in with my peacocks right now in my 55 gallon and he isnt the head boss. he's more like the number 2 or 3 man. my sunshine is the boss but that could be because i have a female sunshine in there and he's always tryna... you know lol. at one point i had two male fryeri in the same 55. they never bothered each other once. they're active but i'm 0-2 on aggression and i'm sure 98% would scream at me for having 1 fryeri in a 55 let alone 2 lol. and my one buddy had a nice size fryeri in his 75 gallon with mbuna and peacocks that went M.I.A. his bones were never found:nilly:

so it really depends on the fish. make sure you examine the one you want to buy from the store. see how active or docile he is and make a decision

I have a 6+" fryeri that was introduced full grown into a 125g tank with a breeding 1m/3f ruby red peacock group and 2 m red top lwanda, among other fish. I have no problems with aggression. That's not to say you won't either, but there's my two cents as a success story.

tried electric blue on several occasions that never worked with my peacocks due to agression on the elelctric blue's part. Just my 2 ents.

I've got a 4 inch fryeri in my 55 gallon and he kills every new peacock or hap I put in the tank. Very nasty fish. But I love him lol. I switched my tank from gravel to sand yesterday and took him out so I could add my new sunshine and jacobfreibergi. So far so good. I'm gonna wait a few weeks before I put him back in the tank. Might be something you have to do every time you add a new fish. Mbuna I can add all day and he is just fine. A few chases to let them know he's boss but nothing crazy. The changing the rocks around idea didn't work for me. Good luck they are amazing fish when they color up.

I find them to be fairly easy and never had a problem with to much aggression. You can always add a small one in and grow him out so he knows there’s a pecking order. If you go all male, then it shouldn’t be a problem for sure. Its one of the smaller haps, so he won't over grow any of your peacocks. I would certainly add him because he adds great color.
