I wouldn't place a blanket label of 'stupid' on any fish or pet. But, as they say..."After a while, people and their pets begin to resemble each other".

:lol3: :lol3: :lol3: Good one!!!

ive known fish to go and hide themselves when they are stressed. Being that it was a new fish he could have been stressed hid himself all day while he was dieing. :irked:

i believe fish to be very smart. My oscars are very smart. I have a couple of convicts. When I first starting feeding them pellets when they were smaller, they couldn't get the whole pellet in their mouth. So they would hold the pellet in the mouth and ram the pellet into the glass or a rock until the pellet broke and then they could fit the smaller pieces into their mouths.

had a female convict jam up inside a stump a few days after losing her partner.

the stump had been with them for 2+ years, no issues until then.

so.... botched search and rescue? or...suicide attempt? lol hardly stupid either way

My brain is much larger than theirs and I also get stuck in corners, lol.

I agree with what has been said fish are smart. It was probable the fish’s curiosity that got it stuck. i have seen dwarf puffers that know were their food is and will bag for it when you walk in the room.

OMG, oddball, I think I hurt myself laughing over those pics.
