Are Great Danes and Chihuahuas Different species?

They'd be classified as different subspecies, IE Canis lupus familiaris sp. "Chihuahua" vs. Canis lupus familiaris sp. "Great Dane".

Like the same species of fish collected from different river drainage's, they're the same species but different due to isolation (or in our case, selective breeding).

Fennec foxes are from Africa, Chihuahuas are from Mexico. They originated among the Aztecs as pets for royalty, and occassionally food.
 
An interesting question. A logical question.

But, in the end, I belive they are the same species.
