I loved keeping this fish. Not very aggressive for a cichlid, and I find it's coloring to be very interesting (especially the eyes!). Sadly I lost it to disease when it was about 5", and when I went back to the lfs where I got it (they have only had one group of these fish, and there was one left amongst some other cichlids), hoping to buy a replacement, they tried to tell me it was a flowerhorn and wanted $40 for it 
But the price at your fish store is reasonable, similar to what I payed for my original pearsei.
