Are Haitiensis cichlid very slow growing?

I've actually noticed 2 of my haitiensis have paired up, dug a pit and started guarding it, only thing is I think there both males lol I know one forsure is a male because of his hump, but the other has a smaller hump and it could be male or female, can females have slight humps?

Female haits can have prominent hump.
