Are jars OK with rays

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
People like to label jardini as "killer." Jardini is just an arowana like any other arowana. Unfortunately, they get branded by incompetent individual, who can't accept his mistake, rather blame it on the fish

To OP, the only problem with keeping an 8" Jardini with an 8" ray is that there's a slight chance the Jardini becomes ray food. Also, there's a chance the Jardini goes after the tatf. That silverish darting little fish can be quite annoying, oh and the tatf can also become ray food

Yes jars are aros but on a scale of aggression they come top of the list

I have kept all types of aro jar Asian Afro silver and black

All was peaceful with the exception of Afro and jar

I have kept 4 silver 2 jars 1 Afro and 2 blacks and over 20 Asian aros

Jars and Afro snap at everything once they get past 12" its not even the size of a fish that plays a part they will attack fish much bigger than them selfs

I have not tried them with rays but I did keep a jar with a Fly River turtle and everytime it came up for air the jar would attack it paid no interest in the FRT when it was on the bottom only when it surfaced

I would expect a jar to attack a ray when it came up the side glass which they love doing

We all take risks in a mixed comm so its a risk only the owner can make
