the same thing happened with my old pike cichlid and tiretrack eel. had the eel hanging out of his mouth for a week

Hehehehe, i suppose when you keep beastly fish ... this kind of events are to be expected (i always dread them though). At least one came out fuller ... sometimes (never happened to me) the dinner chokes to death ... and then you get double loss - ouch
