Just found out from internet that the male is the mouth brooder..i will be watching them ..very interesting to see how they are acting. Not much info available since they only witnessed them breeding in the wild.

Hmm... good lookin out, if their behavior starts changing thats a sign that they might be ready to or they have spawned. do you have any caves for just them?? a devoted breeding cave would definately encourage them to spawn. just wait it out for the moment being, soon enough you will know if you are gonna have fry.
PS- They're Gorgeous!!!

Thank you..these are the biggest eaters ..they scoop up everything in seconds..i always feed in the morning and they were doing this...this am..then when i went to feed tonight they were still at it:DWould swim and pick up something to eat but not as interested as getting back to each other..i have always had a log in there with them but they were never interested in it..never sit still long enough:grinno:They are definitly up to something whether its possible in aquarium, we will see..:grinno:

I don't know if they are but i hoep they do for you,.

Thanks Bruce ... but they are definitly trying..

I went down to feed them this morning and only one would eat..and very distracted ..not his/her usual self..just wanted to hurry and be with the other one..the other one had no interest at all..but swam around with mouth shut more then usual.. here is a couple more pics from this morning..still curious about those black little canister things on the fin on both sides of only one..cannot be tumors because they are in the exact spot on both sides and exactly the same..tried to get close up but they came out a blur since they are black colored there anyway..but if u look carefully you can see it..

that would be so cool if they mated. I thought it was super super hard to get them to breed. I read an article that explained how this one guy was able to get his to breed. He had to spend like 3 months changing the salinity to try and replicate the migration they take from salt water to fresh water to mate. Ill try and find it if i can.
