Its amazing how this fish looks so much like the columbians only they get so big that they need a 1000 gal tank..and because they get so big they don't breed in captivity.. according to the article i read about the aridae catfish.. they get to be 32 inches..very interesting..thanks for posting..mine are also called arias seemani...

Awesome \m/ Hopefully you get some littles ones out of it. If not at least you still got some great pics

Thanks Steve..i wish i knew the incubation time..i quess i will find out when he starts eating..:D

btw "columbian shark cats" have been renamed hexanematichthys seemanni. I hate to be a pessimist but I think its incredibly unlikely they are going to reproduce in straight freshwater. But keep us posted, if they do that would really be interesting and you would be the second person to ever spawn them in captivity apparently! :)

I have to agree with you..i don't really think it will be a successful outcome but they certainly are trying ..so preoccupied not eating but otherwise healthy and snuggling and then swimming and snuggling.. :grinno: I will keep you all posted..going down this am to feed and see if anything has changed..thanks !!
