just an inch did this
amazing what an inch can do isn't it? of course, depending on the surface area of the tank, and inch can be a few gallons. if my 75 drops an inch, thats almost 4 gallons. inch and a half and I've already lost 6. If a tank is at its bio load limit, that really matters. just curious-where in hawaii are you? I lived on oahu for 5 years and miss it like crazy!

Big island....oahu's fun but...too much city for me, just got over moving from Vegas, and San Fran

Glad your fish are OK. Oscars are big and messy. They can put quite a strain on the bio-load of the tank. I had a 10" male Tiger and an 8" female albino red in an 80L. When I went away to school my mom would call after about 6 weeks. She satd the sam thing "your fish are gasping at the top of the tank". I would call a buddy and he would go over there to do a water change and filter pad cleaning. He said within minutes he could see the fish being less stressed and more active. I'm sure you know Oscars are big eaters but also big crappers. Just do more frequent water changes and your golden.

I do a 10 percent water change everyday.:D I dont like my water poopy.
